Challenges: The shelter has many volunteers and they come and go frequently. The leadership had noticed many different methods were used by their volunteers to prepare the dogs for walks. Some of the methods were allowing for dogs to escape the volunteer handler which created chaos and made the animals anxious and skittish about going out for walks. There needed to be a routine way that was safe for the animals, staff, volunteers and possible community members there looking to adopt a new pet.
